Pool Heat Exchanger Press Tool

Brief:

To design and manufacture a press tool and feeding system for 0.2mm thick aluminum foil heat exchanger fins, in different lengths, at high cycle rates. Flared areas in the aluminum to be a close fit on the copper tube specified.

 

Purpose:

To provide a means for heating a pool utilising the superior heat transfer ability of aluminum.

 

Solution:

Designing and manufacturing a complete press tool, feeding and oiling system, along with pneumatic controls, that could be trialed in New Zealand before being shipped to the customer in Australia to fit their press. This press tool was made from specialist materials that could retain sharpness for long periods.
